My practice revolves around three main aspects: Teaching, Functional Pottery, and Fine Art Sculpture. Here you will find works and musings on each facet.
I find joy and meaning in working with clay; no other material comes close. I delight in the magic, the science, the craft and the art of the medium. It lends itself to the softest of touches and records the violence of its construction. Akin to my military indoctrination, I cut, deform, and re-assemble these toy-like boats and ships as a form of introspection; it is a meditation, to ask questions and evoke imagery which cannot be spoken.
